Prague continues to support the audiovisual sector. New call for professional projects. Applications open from 15 October to 15 November 2026

On 17 August 2026, the Board of the Prague Audiovisual Foundation approved the launch of the new Call 2026/1 – Professional, aimed at supporting the production of significant audiovisual projects filmed in the capital city.

Applications for foundation funding may be submitted from 15 October to 15 November 2026.

Which projects are eligible for support?

The call is intended for professional productions preparing short- and feature-length:

  • fiction films,
  • documentary films,
  • animated films,
  • fiction series,
  • documentary series,
  • animated series.

Projects intended for international distribution are eligible for support, whether through cinemas, television broadcasting, video-on-demand (VOD) services or subscription-based streaming platforms.

Prague must play itself

One of the key conditions of the call is that Prague must actually represent Prague in the audiovisual work. The Foundation has long supported projects that contribute to promoting the capital as an accessible and attractive filming destination.

Project implementation requirements

Projects are eligible to apply if filming has started or will start between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027.

An exception is made for time-lapse documentary projects, for which the filming start date is not decisive. However, these projects must be completed no later than 31 December 2029.
